Be Happy – it’s Friday!
I have to say, I didn’t realise it was Friday! I thought we were still on Thursday!
But here I am and I am delighted to say I am sat outside basking in glorious September Sunshine. The view from where I am sitting is one of my favourites. I have a clear view across our lawn and to the fields beyond, sheltered by beautiful big horse chestnut and sycamore trees that are just beginning to show the first signs of golden autumn. I have 3 buckets full of apples and pears by the pantry door, the last bowl of figs have just been plucked from the tree and I really must get out with the boys this weekend to go blackberrying.
I love the season change in this country. I love how nature shows you how beautifully you can let go, shed what is no longer needed in order to free yourself up for change, evolution, regrowth and rebirth.
I remember reading a quote along those lines just under 3 years ago now; it was one of those memorable light bulb moments and I found the first spark to guide me out of my dark depression. I could let go. I could shed my cloak of sadness whenever I wanted. I could let go of things, people, places and anything I felt I no longer needed. In fact, I could shed everything except that which really mattered; my roots, my values, my heart. I could use my uncluttered limbs to pick up new things, with my mind free of stories I could start a new story with a brand new chapter.
I also love how nature shows us we can do this again and again. Each year growing a little taller, a little wiser, reaching further. New chapters, new stories, new books to create the library of our life. I love libraries and the most incredible libraries are full to the brim of interesting tales and adventures.
And here I am philosophising! That was not my intention when I sat down to write! But it all just came out; I help many women who face darkness and can’t find the first step out. I also help many women who want to reinvent themselves, having given up their primary career or after a life changing event. Their transformations are beautiful to watch.
On an entirely different note, I had intended to talk about Joy…. Are you taking part or even watching the HYH 7 Day Challenge? If you are, you will know that today’s challenge is to write your joy list by thinking of all the things you do that make you happy and then to share doing one of those joyful activities.
By being joyful ourselves, we spread joy and that is what has been happening in the FaceBook group today. Lots of joy! So, if you are in need of a little joy, go and dip your toe in to the group and have a look round – but I warn you, you will leave feeling inspired by the incredible people who are sharing their stories of joy today and who have also shared their updates with all the challenges to date.
This weekend I am travelling to London for the UK Health Coaches Conference in London on Monday and I am so excited to be part of the line up on stage as well as being privileged to help back stage and organise what is going to be a truly fantastic and inspirational event as we grow awareness around how Health Coaching is changing lives.
